Keep your Business Secure

Microsoft offers a valuable and critical add-on license called Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection (ATP). It has 2 different levels, but at its basic level it:

  • Protects users from malicious attachments and links and protects against phishing and spoofing.
  • Scans all files attached to emails or stored in SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams, quarantining any that are malicious.
  • Scans all links in email and Office suite files (Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations), checks to see if the web sites they’re for are safe, and blocks the user from accessing any that are malicious.

This will protect your business from phishing and drive-by attacks. The anti-phishing and anti-spoofing component blocks email from someone claiming to be someone they’re not. For example, for a company “Contoso” with an owner “John Smith” whose email address was john.smith@Contoso.com, an attacker might send an email to company employees that say it’s from John Smith from the address john.smith@Contosos.com. Most people would open it after only seeing the name and proceed to open any attachments and click any links. Even more diligent users could easily miss the extra ‘s’ in the email address. Advanced threat protection would catch and quarantine all such emails.

Encrypted Email

Another add-on license that’s available for Office 365 provides email encryption. Unlike other message encryption services where you need to log into a different company’s web site just for sending or receiving encrypted emails, Microsoft’s solution is integrated directly into their Exchange email server and can be sent directly from Outlook.
Additionally, if the recipient is using Office 365 for their email or is using a recent version of Outlook they can open the encrypted email like any other email. Rights-management features are also integrated with the solution, so recipients can be prevented from downloading, printing, and forwarding emails as well. All together, these features dramatically lower the complexity of and objections to encrypting email.

Consistent Signature

Consistent, well-designed email signatures are a hallmark of large companies and add professionalism to companies of all sizes. However, recreating the same design individually for each email user on every device they use can be a very tedious and time-consuming process and nothing prevents users from modifying them later. Fortunately, #TechStarters offers a service which, when used with an Office 365 Exchange email account, will automatically append the same signature design to every email sent by every user in your company, regardless of whether they are using Outlook on their desk computer, the email app on their phone, or any other email program. It can automatically pull the sender’s name, phone number, and other information from Office 365 and insert it into the rest of the signature. Our graphic design professionals are also available to assist in the creation of professional design.

Email Migration

#TechStarters can migrate your email history, contacts, and calendars to Office 365’s Exchange Online regardless of where your email is currently at. On-premises Exchange servers, hosted Exchange servers, Gmail, AOL Mail, and just about any other mail server can be migrated. We can even migrate you from GoDaddy’s stripped-down Office 365 offering to the full Microsoft Office 365 products so you can access all the features of Office 365.
